The Messersmith's - Missionaries To England May 2006 Update

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Mt. 9:36

Dear Friends,

As the summer approaches, we are looking forward to enjoying all the things that this time of year brings. The children are very excited that they have only five weeks left of school and Zachary is counting the days until it is officially summertime. Though, in England, you are not sure if it ever officially becomes summer! Lisa is now six months pregnant and both she and the baby are doing very well. Her due date is approximately September 20th.
There are several ministries that will be taking place over the next few months that we would like you to pray about. On July 7-9 we will have our first missions conference teaching Faith Promise giving. Layton Kelly and Martin Wickens, who are both British, are missionaries in Ireland. They will be coming and presenting their calling to the church. This will be the first time that the people of our church have ever heard of and been asked to participate in Faith Promise.
After the missions conference our first Vacation Bible School will be held. Presently we have about 15 children attending the Sunday school and they have been regularly bringing visitors with them over several weeks. Pray as we prepare and promote the VBS that the kids coming will be excited and invite their family and friends to come along. The theme is “Exploring our Awesome God”. We are praying that more young people will trust Christ as their Savior.
In early September our first students will attend Trinity Baptist Bible College which we will be starting this fall. We are also sponsoring a Creation seminar at the end of the month. Though these are several months away we do need your continued prayers concerning these ministries. The creation meeting will be targeting those who are not saved and believe in evolution. This is a very hot topic amongst the youth of Great Britain and we are praying many will come and for the first time here the truth about creation and salvation.
We praise the Lord for the work he has done in the hearts of those who have been faithfully attending the services. The young people are so excited about Sunday school and learning about spiritual matters. Philip, Jade and Tiffany, the first young people who accepted Christ, asked their Sunday school teacher if they could be baptised. We are planning our first baptismal service in June. As we do not have a baptismal in the church we will be using the swimming pool of one of the families in our church. Carl, who was saved in March, has continued to come to both services on Sunday. He is a little hesitant on being baptised so we ask that you will pray for him that he will simply be obedient to the Word of God.
With all our hearts we thank you for your support through prayers and finances.
Standing on the Promises,
Steve Messersmith and Family
